Mastodon has premiered a new song called "In the Ruins," a track off the band's upcoming album, Marrow Deep.
According to a press release, "In the Ruins" is "inspired by the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene and the personal havoc it wreaked upon bassist/vocalist Troy Sanders and his family."
You can watch the accompanying "In the Ruins" video, which follows the journey of a single-eyed creature named Frank, streaming now on YouTube.
Marrow Deep, which also includes the previously released songs "Your Ghost Again" and "Snakes for Dinner," drops Aug. 28. It's the follow-up to 2021's Hushed and Grim, and marks Mastodon's first album following the 2025 death of former guitarist Brent Hinds.
Mastodon will launch a U.S. tour in September.
