Red Hot Chili Peppers
Wells Fargo Center
I didn’t get enough Pepper Sunday night, so I came back for Sold Out night #2 of the Red Hot Chili Peppers at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. Cool thing about this tour, no setlist has been the same each night. So if you only go to one show on the tour or one show in a city with multiple shows, you’re not gonna get all the hits. Much respect to the Chilis for changing it up. Some of my favorite bands have a set show on a tour and it drives me nuts.
First 3 songs on night 2, completely different from night 1… Can’t Stop, Dani California, and Scar Tissue then into the #1 Rock Song of 2016… Dark Necessities. The middle of the set was new songs, Californication, and a few covers of the Funkadelic, Robert Johnson, and their amazing cover of Stevie Wonder’s Higher Ground. No Under the Bridge on night 2, instead Philly got Soul to Squeeze and another shot of By The Way. Same encore as night 1, though it started with a quick snippet of Eye of the Tiger in honor of Rocky & Philly.
Another great show at the Wells Fargo Center. Chili Peppers are still at the top of their game three decades into their career. A fun two nights hanging in Philly with friends, fellow radio brothers and sisters, and some Chili Peppers family. And yes, PJW Copper Lager was on the menu for Sean once again!!!
