As The Crow Flies - Electric Factory 4/18
As The Crow Flies hit Philly for their second date on their mini tour that is revisiting the hits of The Black Crowes. Fronted by Chris Robinson, frontman for the Crowes, and is rounded out by former members of the Black Crowes and Robinson’s current band The Brotherhood. Robinson said in interviews that he missed playing the hits that made the Crowes so popular after jamming some of them several months ago. Ironically, the Black Crowes rarely played all the hits before they broke up, mostly relying on deeper cuts and long jams.
Robinson delivered on his promise as the opened with a 1, 2, 3 punch of Remedy, Sting Me, and Twice As Hard. The set was filled with hits including Jealous Again, She Talks To Angels, Wiser Time, Hard to Handle, and many more. Plus, some deeper Crowes tunes like Sister Luck, High Head Blues, and By Your Side. The band was super tight. Robinson still has his chops. They even threw in some covers from CSN&Y and Ten Years After. An amazing night. Since this is a mini tour and Robinson has already booked Brotherhood dates this summer, this could be the beginning and end for As The Crowes Flies. Solid show at the Factory once again and though exhausted I'm glad I made it out!
