Had the pleasure of seeing Sting at his Sold Out show at The Fillmore Philadelphia on Saturday night. Had a chance to meet the Rock n Roll Hall of Famer prior to the show. Couldn't have been nicer (super chatty with everyone), though I think the man might be an alien. 65. In perfect shape (damn you) and when he took the stage, his voice is hasn't lost a step. Sting took the stage solo with just an acoustic guitar to start the show for a song. He then introduced his son who took the stage for 3 songs. Side note... he inherited his dad's voice 100%. Another opener hit the stage for a handful of songs, the closer with Sting on backing vocals and tambourine. Sting hit the stage around 8:45 with the The Police classic Synchronicity II and Spirits in a Material World, followed by solo classic Englishman in New York from his solo debut. Several tracks from his latest release followed throughout the set. Sting did a great job keeping the crowd interested with solo and Police hits including Fields of Gold, Message in a Bottle, Desert Rose, and So Lonely. The opening set closer Roxanne had the Sold Out crowd singing word for word. Closed with Next to You and Every Breath You Take. Sting's band was spot on, which is no small feet when you're playing Police songs. Great show from a man that yes I still believe is an alien!
and my blurry MnG pic with Sting
