It’s not going to happen. After Oprah Winfrey gave a rousing, wide-ranging speech that touched on social justice at the Golden Globes, celebrities and ordinary people alike have been buzzing over the possibility that she might launch a presidential bid in 2020.

But the 60 Minutes correspondent put the rumors to rest in an interview with 60 Minutes Overtime correspondent Ann Silvio in a clip released Thursday.

  • Winfrey said: "I am actually humbled by the fact that people think that I could be a leader of the free world, but it's just not in my spirit."
  • She is speaking to Silvio ahead of her next story on Sunday’s 60 Minutes, which is set to document America’s political divide.
  • "I was just trying to give a good speech," she says of her Golden Globes moment. "I was looking for a way to express what was going on in this moment in terms of gender and class and race. I cared about landing that speech in the room."
  • After the speech, she said "wealthy men" started calling her, asking to run her campaign and "raise $1 billion" for it. But she said she just didn’t feel the call to run.
  • "And wouldn't I know? Because if God actually wanted me to run, wouldn't God kinda tell me? And I haven't heard that," she said.

Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux are splitting up after two and a half years of marriage and seven years together, according to multiple reports.

The former couple "say their split was ‘mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year,’ " according to Associated Press.

  • "Normally we would do this privately, but given that the gossip industry cannot resist an opportunity to speculate and invent, we wanted to convey the truth directly," says the statement released by longtime Aniston publicist Stephen Huvane. "Whatever else is printed about us that is not directly from us, is someone else’s fictional narrative. Above all, we are determined to maintain the deep respect and love that we have for one another."
  • The split has been long-rumored, with Aniston recently celebrating her 49th birthday without Theroux (but at a warm-looking gathering with Courteney Cox, Andrea Bendewald, Leigh Kilton-Smith and Kristin Hahn).

More than three months after being accused of sexual harassment on the set of Amazon’s Transparent, Jeffrey Tambor is officially being cut from the series.

Deadline reports that the decision was made after an investigation into multiple complaints of misconduct. When the allegations first emerged in November, Tambor first said that he didn’t see how he could return, but then he and his rep walked the statement back, saying time would tell.

  • Fellow core cast members Gaby Hoffman, Jay Duplass, Judith Light and Amy Landecker will return, according to Deadline. Creator Jill Soloway and her team of writers are reportedly trying to determine how season 5 will move forward.
  • Transgender actresses Van Barnes and Trace Lysette were the first to float accusations of misconduct. Tambor apologized after their allegations emerged, but added: "I know I haven’t always been the easiest person to work with. I can be volatile and ill-tempered, and too often I express my opinions harshly and without tact. But I have never been a predator – ever."

The follow-up to Alex Garland’s surprise sci-fi hit Ex Machina, Annihilation, is being praised in many circles for the finished product … but the process of creating the film is being slammed by activists, including the groups MANAA (Media Action Network for Asian Americans) and American Indians in Film and Television, for whitewashing.

Critics say that the characters played by white actresses Natalie Portman and Jennifer Jason Leigh were written to portray women of color (Asian heritage and half Native American, respectively.

  • But Garland claims that he wrote the screenplay for the movie based on the advance copy of the first novel Annihilation, which did not describe the characters’ ancestry or physical appearance.
  • In a statement, he told Deadline: "This is an awkward problem for me, because I think whitewashing is a serious and real issue, and I fully support the groups drawing attention to it.
  • "But the characters in the novel I read and adapted were not given names or ethnicities. I cast the film reacting only to the actors I met in the casting process, or actors I had worked with before. There was no studio pressure to cast white. The casting choices were entirely mine.
  • "As a middle-aged white man, I can believe I might at times be guilty of unconscious racism, in the way that potentially we all are. But there was nothing cynical or conspiratorial about the way I cast this movie."
  • Portman’s response echoes Garland’s. She told Yahoo! News: "Well, that does sound problematic, but I’m hearing it here first," adding: "We need more representation of Asians on film, of Hispanics on film, of blacks on film, women and particularly women of color, Native Americans — I mean, we just don’t have enough representation. And also these categories like ‘white’ and ‘nonwhite’ — they’re imagined classifications but have real-life consequences. … And I hope that begins to change, because I think everyone is becoming more conscious of it, which hopefully will make change."
  • Other members of the cast include Gina Rodriguez, Tessa Thompson, Sonya Miznuo, Tuva Novotny, Oscar Isaac and Benedict Wong. Annihilation drops February 23rd.
