Bill Cosby’s retrial for sexual assault on Wednesday was full of fireworks, including admissions that he gave drugs to women for sex, allegations that his accuser spoke of a plot to frame him and testimony from a publisher backing up Janice Dickinson’s claim that he raped her.

The 80-year-old is on trial for three counts of sexual assault against Andrea Constand. She is one of several dozen women who claim Cosby drugged and assaulted her, but only her case can be tried in court because of statute of limitations laws. She claims he drugged and assaulted her in 2004. He denies all allegations of nonconsensual sex. His first trial ended in a hung jury.

DRUGS:

  • After hearing testimony from six women that Cosby allegedly drugged and assaulted them, the jury was read portions of a civil deposition in which he admitted to giving Quaaludes to women he wanted to have sex with. He made the admission in a 2005 statement to police, telling them that they were something "young people were using to party with, and there were times when I wanted to have them just in case."

KEY WITNESS

  • Cosby’s defense called Marguerite Jackson to the stand to testify that Constand discussed framing a "high-profile person" so she could file a civil lawsuit and land a windfall.
  • She testified that Constand mentioned the plot while they were rooming together on a road trip to Rhode Island. (They both worked at Temple University and were traveling with the basketball team).
  • Jackson said that Constand told her she was a victim of assault at first, but then said she was hoping to fake a story so she could "sue and get that money."

JANICE DICKINSON:

  • Book publisher Judith Regan told jurors that Dickinson told her that Cosby had "drugged and raped" her, but that she’d kept it out of her memoir, No Lifeguard on Duty, for legal reasons. At the time (2002), no other women had publicly accused Cosby of rape, and Regan and her team were concerned about the legal risks involved in making such a serious accusation.
  • "I insisted that it not appear in the book," Regan said. "She was very angry about that."
  • Dickinson was one of five other so-called prior bad-act witnesses who shared their stories of being assaulted by Cosby. His lawyers pointed to her memoir, questioning why her allegations weren’t included in the otherwise no-holds-barred tell-all if they were true.

Since announcing his split from wife Anna Faris in August of 2017 and breaking the Internet’s heart, Chris Pratt has kept silent on the subject. The pair were married for eight years and share a 5-year-old son Jack.

At the time of their split, the pair issued a joint statement via social media; they assured fans of their mutual "love" and "respect" for each other, and asked for privacy.

  • But in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, he addressed the elephant in the room.
  • "Divorce sucks," he said. "But at the end of the day, we've got a great kid who's got two parents who love him very much. And we're finding a way to navigate this while still remaining friends and still being kind to one another. It's not ideal, but yeah, I think both of us are actually probably doing better."
  • Both stars are seeking joint custody. Faris has spoken out a few times about their split, and her take seems right in line with Pratt’s.
  • "He's surrounded by so much love," Faris told E! News in January about Jack. "We constantly reinforce what a great kid he is."
  • Ultimately, the Overboard star added, "The key is surrounding him with a lot of joy and happiness, which he has a ton of."
  • Faris, 41, is dating cinematographer Michael Barrett. Pratt, 38, is presumed to be single.
  • Fans can next see Pratt in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, out June 22nd.

LOLA KIRKE CALLS OUT ‘GLIB’ MOVIE REVIEW: Lola Kirke penned a letter to the editor of The New Yorker, slamming Anthony Lane’s review of her performance in Gemini opposite Zoe Kravitz. "I am disappointed by Anthony Lane’s glib criticism of my character’s appearance in the film Gemini (The Current Cinema, April 2nd). To deem unflattering the ‘big jeans’ and ‘baggy gray top’ I wear throughout the film is to suggest a preference for heroines in more tight-fitting clothes," she wrote. "And to even mention my ‘haircut from hell’ is to miss the point of my performance entirely. We need to see female characters be powerful and beautiful in ways that don’t rely on outdated representations of women."

SHONDA RHIMES SPEAKS ON SCANDAL ENDING, SPINOFF: Shonda Rhimes is as sad to see her long-running political thriller Scandal end as fans are, but don’t expect a spinoff. "Scandal is done," she told reporters during a conference call ahead of the finale when asked if she might be considering a spinoff of the series that turned Kerry Washington into a household name, per E! News. "I felt we were coming to our end is because we've told the stories I wanted to tell. We've told the canon of Olivia Pope in the way that I wanted to tell it," she added. "So I don't feel like we have stories that we didn't get to tell that I wanted to tell." But she left the door open (a crack) for characters to appear on the cross over series How To Get Away With Murder. "Whether or not it's mentioned is up to creator Pete Nowalk. That's his show and his storytelling. So I don't know if he's ever going to mention it. It's not a plan that either one of us have," she admitted. "We don't have any—Neither one of us have that in our heads as part of a plan. So thus far, no." Are you sad to say farewell to Scandal? Scandal's series finale airs Thursday, April 19 at 10 p.m. on ABC.

Charlize Theron is no stranger to dramatic physical transformations for roles. (Exhibit A: Monster). She transformed her body again for her latest role in Tully, and while her weight-gain diet sounded like a fantasy at first, the reality was actually pretty grim, she said.

She sat down with Entertainment Tonight to discuss why gaining weight by ODing on milkshakes isn’t a piece of cake.

  • "I gained close to 50 pounds for this film," Theron shared. "I just I wanted to feel what this woman felt, and I think that was a way for me to get closer to her and get into that mindset. You know, it was a huge surprise to me. I got hit in the face pretty hard with depression. Yeah, for the first time in my life I was eating so much processed foods and I drank way too much sugar. I was not that fun to be around on this film."
  • She had three and a half months to pack on the pounds, and Theron admits that at first, it was kind of awesome.
  • "The first three weeks are always fun because you're just like a kid in a candy store. So it was fun to go and have breakfast at In-N-Out and have two milkshakes," she explained. "And then after three weeks, it's not fun anymore. Like, all of a sudden you're just done eating that amount and then it becomes a job. I remember having to set my alarm in the middle of the night in order to just maintain the weight."
  • In order to gain and maintain she took to shoving a cup of cold mac and cheese down her throat at two in the morning. Her kids, Jackson, 6, and August, 2, assumed she was pregnant.
  • "My little one was convinced that I had a baby in my belly," she laughed. "I had a very similar moment with my older one. Like in the film, where she saw my body one day and was like, 'Mom, what has happened to your body.' It was a little too close to home. I shared it with director Jason Reitman and I was like, 'This is a little too real for me.' And my kids still refer to this movie as the movie where mommy had a big belly."
  • Losing the weight was no picnic either. "There's nothing fun about that. It took about a year and a half. It was a long journey, very long journey," she explained. "And it's hard because I had press junkets and movies around it and nobody knew that I had done it for this. And I think in the beginning everybody thought I was wearing, like, when the first photos came out, everyone thought it was, like, prosthetics. And then I went on press junkets and it was like nobody knew."
  • In Tully, Theron plays a struggling mother of three who is gifted with a nanny. The film opens May 4th.

Olivia Wilde is keeping things gender-neutral. The Booksmart director shares two children with Jason Sudeikis: Daisy Josephine, 18 months, and Otis Alexander, 4.

She tells People that she is fascinated by the way kids associate themselves with their idols, regardless of their gender, and says she hopes to maintain that as long as possible.

  • "Otis loves Moana, obviously, and when he thinks about Moana, he thinks of himself as Moana," says Wilde. "I love hearing him sing … it’s the best when you can watch them singing in the backseat of your car, and he’s just like, ‘I wish I could be the perfect daughter!’ And he’s just belting it out."
  • She continues, "That’s so great because at a certain age he’s going to be like, ‘Well, I can’t, that’s … ‘ you know, and he still doesn’t judge things like pink, or dance or gymnastics. These aren’t things that are gender-specific yet."
  • "I don’t know why at a certain point we tell them that’s for boys and that’s for girls, but I’m going to do my best to not force that delineation," the actress says.

Emily Ratajkowski recently surprised friends and fans alike by marrying Sebastian Bear-McCloud; the news prompted a great deal of spririted speculation about the new lovebirds, especially after she posted a picture of herself holding fruit and tagging it "bearing fruit."

Turns out, she was actually being literal. The 26-year-old tells USA Today that she is not, as many suspected, pregnant.

  • And on Live! With Kelly & Ryan, she also addressed fellow model Chrissy Teigen’s tweeted response to news that she got married: "I’m oddly mad I wasn’t invited to @emrata’s wedding even though we barely speak...like, I like all your photos and leave flames on some."
  • Ratajkowski tells the hosts: "I got married at City Hall. It was a very special day… You always need one witness and I just couldn’t choose one person so we ended up bringing like four to five friends each, a couple dogs. We were quite a little crew."
  • "I actually felt bad!" she continued. "I was like, 'Oh my god, she’s calling me out.' But you know, a lot of people weren’t there. I do know her. I don’t know that she would have been the first person in a 10-person wedding that I would have invited…but I get it. I totally get it. She’s like number 12."
